Spain Tour (2001)

The band embarked upon its first European tour at Easter 2001. Our destination was Spain. We where based beside the sea in the 'Loret De Mar'.

Following a morning reversal we embarked upon our first foreign performance. This was in the main square on the sea front in 'Loret De Mar'. The performance went well with many people stopping to listen. The band was on a high, not just because of the performance but also from the fumes of paint for white lines on the road which where being painted in time to our music!

Our second performance was in a local village. Our initial audience where the youngsters from there village school. Just getting there had been a challenge for the bus. It almost got stuck under a bridge. Many of our audience were not amused to have to sit still and listen. Several fell asleep. The village turned out and presented the band with several souvenirs, we where also lucky to receive a warm and friendly reception.

With a day of leisure and hot beautiful weather everyone took off in different directions. Some stayed and sunbathing on the beach, some explored Barcelona and others visited 'Port Aventura' and faced a multitude of thrills and spills.

Our final concert was in the Olympic village in Barclona. The morning had greeted us with snow.

The performance went well despite the cold, with an appreciative audience. We then had time for ice creams and to explore Barclona.

On our return to the hotel, we commandeered the hotel, bar and held an impromptu concert for everyone who was staying at the hotel with satisfied their curiosity having seen us come and go during the week.

It was time to embark on the 24-hour journey home, all part of the experience ready and eager for the next tour.

Austria (2007)

In August 2007 we travelled to 'Salzburg' in Austria. We arrived in pouring rain, which did not look promising. The rain continued throughout the first day. Those escaping the damp conditions warmly received our performance in 'Bechetsgarden'. 'St. Wolfgang' saw a vast improvement in the garden. Boats where hired to take trips on the lake many pirating attempts where made by the younger members on each other and train rides up the mountains, although the mist made any views disappointing.
